I Like To Make Little Purses
During the making of “The Bird of Music,” I sat around doing nothing besides thumbing through old musty back-issues of NME and brewing tea while Annie knitted her entire family a new wardrobe. This time around, I won’t be a slave to my own handicraft handicaps. I can make little leather purses! Who knew? I just discovered it. I rip up old vintage leather jackets for my materials, and stitch them up, and make a mess, such a mess that Thom ripped up his carpet after I left his studio. Now I owe Thom a carpet. They’re pretty cute and they don’t fall apart, surprisingly enough. I give them to my friends and their thank yous seem sincere enough to keep me going.
